Potio

In development

Potholes and street damage, spotted from the vehicles a council already runs.

A camera on a refuse truck or gritter sees every road in the district every week. Potio turns that into a live defect map for highway maintenance teams, with the detection done on the vehicle.

From a camera to a works order

Capture
A forward-facing camera on refuse trucks, gritters or inspection vans. It records nothing that is not a defect.
Detect
Models on the device flag potholes, cracking, and damaged signs, bollards and barriers as the vehicle passes.
Locate
Each defect is logged with its position, a frame and a size estimate, and repeat sightings are merged.
Map
A live defect map with severity and age, exportable to the council’s works-order system.
Privacy
Faces and number plates are blurred on the device. Only defect frames leave the vehicle.
Compare
Every pilot runs alongside the existing inspection rota, so the council can see what Potio finds that inspectors miss, and vice versa.

Rollout

  1. One vehicle, one district

A camera on a single vehicle for a month, compared with the inspection rota for the same roads.

  2. Fleet and works orders

Cameras across the fleet, defects exported to the works-order system, repairs closed off from the map.

  3. Change over time

The same roads seen week after week: which defects are growing, which repairs are holding.
